Split PDF

Separate one page or a whole set for easy conversion into independent PDF files.

How It Works

Split PDF reads your document in the browser and either creates one file per page or extracts a page range you specify into a new PDF. Because the split happens with pdf-lib on your device, page content is not sent to our servers for this step—useful when you need to separate bank statements, chapters, or forms without uploading them.

How to Use

  1. Upload a single PDF you want to split.
  2. Choose “Split all pages” to get one PDF per page, or “Select range” and enter start and end page numbers for a single extracted segment.
  3. Click “Split PDF” and wait for processing to complete.
  4. Download each part from the results, or run again on another file.

Common Use Cases

  • Sending only specific pages from a long contract or report.
  • Breaking a scanned bundle into one file per receipt or form.
  • Extracting a single chapter or appendix for a colleague.
  • Preparing slides or handouts page-by-page for a learning platform.

FAQ

Can I split a PDF without uploading it to the cloud?
This split tool processes the PDF in your browser, so the file does not need to be uploaded to our servers for splitting. Always keep your browser updated and avoid untrusted extensions if you handle sensitive PDFs.
What is the difference between splitting all pages and a range?
Split all pages produces one PDF per page—ideal for distributing or renaming each page separately. Select range creates a single new PDF containing only the pages you chose, which is handy when you need one continuous excerpt.
Will splitting change text or image quality?
Splitting copies pages into new files without intentionally recompressing content. What you see in each output should match the corresponding pages in the original, aside from normal PDF structure differences.
