Is it safe to compress my PDF online?

Your PDF is sent over HTTPS, processed to produce a smaller file, and offered back to you as a download. Use it for non-sensitive material as you would with any online service, and avoid uploading confidential documents if your policy forbids cloud processing.

Will compressing reduce quality?

Stronger compression can make photos and gradients in the PDF look softer or more compressed. The “less compression” and “custom” options keep more detail; “extreme” prioritizes the smallest file. Text-based PDFs often stay very readable even at higher compression.

Why is my PDF still large after compression?

Some PDFs are mostly vector text or already optimized images, so there is little left to remove. Scanned pages that are effectively full-page images may not shrink dramatically without more aggressive image downsampling, which this tool applies according to your chosen level.
