How It Works
Rotate turns images by 90° steps (and similar options) using canvas transforms in the browser. Each image is read locally, rotated, and exported—so vacation photos, scans, and design exports can be fixed without uploading originals to a server.
How to Use
- Open the Rotate tab and add the images that need turning.
- Choose 90° left, 90° right, 180°, or 360°; a small preview shows the effect on the first image.
- Click rotate to process every selected file and wait for the progress bar.
- Download the rotated images or a ZIP when batching many files.
Common Use Cases
- Correcting photos that imported sideways from phones or cameras.
- Straightening scanned documents saved in the wrong orientation.
- Aligning graphics for print templates that expect landscape or portrait.
- Preparing images for viewers that do not auto-rotate EXIF data.
FAQ
- Does rotating lower quality?
- For most raster images, rotation re-encodes the bitmap; a tiny softening can occur with lossy formats. Rotating once from a high-quality original is usually fine; avoid rotating the same JPEG many times in a row.
- Does rotation respect EXIF orientation?
- Some viewers auto-rotate using EXIF metadata while others do not. Baking rotation into the pixels here makes the file look correct everywhere, at the cost of re-encoding.
- Is rotating images online private here?
- Rotation is done in your browser, so images are not sent to our servers for the rotate step. Clear downloads on shared machines when needed.
